Bookish September

Hey guys and thank you for checking out my little book blog. I can not believe how fast this year is flying by. I am looking forward to the fall though. It’s probably my favorite season. All the colors changing and just the smell is awesome. I like it when the temperature drops to the lower 70s high 60s. …heaven.

Anywho, I wanted to share with you guys the Read A Thon that I am participating in. Now there isn’t really any strict rules or guidelines to this read a thon. It was made for those that are going back to school…or me who has a busy schedule. Just an easy month. There are several people hosting this Read a thon. I will put their info at the end of this post.

It is on BookTube but also Instagram. There is a daily picture challenge on IG. I have done these in the past but never finished them. I will this month!!

So here are the reading challenges and my TBR to go along with the challenges.

#1 Re-read a favorite book

I am choosing The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey. This was a hard choice but I know the movie is being made and I want to freshen up. Not to mention I loved this book!

Now I’ve already started this book in August so I am going to finish it this month!! So far it’s the first book that ever made me cry.

I tried to read as much as I could during the week but between life and horrible migraines it was very hard.

I also won the copy of Ready Player One – Ernest Cline from the Twitter challenge. Over all I read as much as I could and for me that was a lot.

I do plan on taking the “reading sprints” to heart and give myself timed reading limits. To see if I can push myself to read faster.

BookTubeAThon Update!

It is now currently Day 5 of the BookTubeAThon! I can not believe how fast this week has gone by. Not only am I trying to read but we have been busy as a family. Just go go go!

Anyways here are the stats from the last 2 days!

Day 3

I was able to finish Aria by M.D. Luis and that also completed the challenge for reading a book with Blue on the cover. I was pleasently surprised with this book mostly because paranormal romance isn’t in my comfort zone. Her book was a great book to tiptoe into this genre.

Reading the last 179 pages.

Gerald’s Game by Stephen King (12 pages)

House by Ted Dekker (12 pages)

PUSH by Sapphire (38 pages)

For a Grand Total of  339 pages read on the 3rd day!!

Something else happened that night but I will be posting about that in its on post! Its very very exciting though!

Day 4

I read a total of 1 book!!

No Spock!! Im sorry!

The one book that I did read I was able to read in under 2 hours!!

Synopsis

I was able to finish it so fast that it is half  regular novel and half graphic novel. I will be putting up a review on this soon.

Total pages 278

Which brings my overall total to….

1,239 pages!!!

BookTubeAThon Day 2

Ok so this is a little late but I wanted to give you my stats for day 2 of the BookTubeAThon.

I finished Into the Volcano by Don Woods (graphic novel) 175 pages.
-completing the challenge of not letting a book go while reading

Gerald’s Game I only read 55 pages.
Aria I also only read 55 pages ….weird.

Then I threw in my other book, House by Ted Dekker. I read a total of 120 pages in this book.

Grand total for day 2 = 405 pages read

Not to shabby I think.

Day 1 of BookTubeAThon Update!

Hey everyone I wanted to update you on how my first day went. I know that I missed this yesterday but whatever!

I am sick right now so I haven’t really had the total focus that I want but I did the best I could yesterday.

135 pages in Gerald’s Game by Stephen King

82 pages in Aria by MD Luis

Totaling out to : 217 pages total

Not the best but its a start I guess.

I am feeling better today so I am hoping to plow through some books!

BookTubeAThon TBR

I still haven’t worked up the courage yet to make a BookTube channel but I do love my blog. So I joined the #BookTubeAThon and I am so excited! I did ok on the last little readathon that I joined back in the beginning of the month so I have high hopes for this one. It runs from Aug 3-9th and it has 7 challenges to go along with it. There are also video challenges that will be posted on their YouTube channel and I will like that below.

Ok so here is my Tbr list and their corresponding challenges.

1. Read a book with blue on the cover

I have chosen Aria by MD Luis. I received this one for review from MD and so it also falls in line with my own challenge of reading my reviews books this month.

2. Read a book where the author’s last name starts with the same letter as yours.

I went with House by Ted Dekker and Frank Peretti. This has been sitting on my shelf forever and I tend to read horror books pretty fast so I can’t wait to read this! Plus I heard the movie was good too.

3. Read someone else’s favorite book

This one I went to Instagram to get an idea of what to read. I picked my friend Carlee Anne’s (@_carleewazum_) suggestion of anything by Jennifer L. Armentrout. This just happens to be the only one I own. Thanks Girl!

4. Read the last book you have acquired

I went with the a book my cousin told me that if I find it to keep it forever. That is Gerald’s Game by Stephen King. So I am really looking forward to this one!!

5. Finish a book without letting it go

Literally, you can not put this book down. Its part of the challenge!! I bought Into the Volcano by Don Wood from my local library.

6. Read a book you really want to read

I was drawn to this book just by cover alone. Its so gorgeous in person. It is also blurbed by some awesome people! So I am really excited about this one too!

7. Read 7 books during the week

I only have 6 books up here but I have tons of books here on my shelves to choose from. So you will just have to wait for my #booktubathon wrap up to see how many books I do read and see if I can do these challenges! I do feel like I am getting sick so we shall see.
