Hey guys I am back with my November TBR. I am only going to put 4 books on this list because my little man is due any day. I didn’t want to go crazy with the stack. So I decided to go with a theme that I know I will enjoy reading…ready…
I love a good fairy tale retelling especially if it is one of my favorite stories. So I went down to my local library and picked up 3 books by the same author because I knew that’s what she writes. Also Bekah Awesomebooknut on Youtube suggested these books in several of her videos especially the first book. If you haven’t seen her videos where have you been. She is one of my favorite booktubers to watch and I believe I have seen every one of them. Bekah is also very sweet and is an awesome mom so I can relate better with her than some of the others. Ok enough fangirling….on to the books.
I received a digital copy of this book through Netgalley and I have already started it. It is a retelling of The Phantom of the Opera. This book does not come out until Jan 10, 2017.
Graceling meets Beauty and the Beast in this sweeping fantasy about one girl’s journey to fulfill her destiny and the monster who gets in her way-by stealing her heart.
I loved Graceling and Beauty and the Beast is my all time favorite fairy tale. I started reading this book as soon as I got back in my car from the library. This is the first book in the Cruel Beauty Universe.
Inspired by the classic fairy tale Little Red Riding Hood, Crimson Bound is an exhilarating tale of darkness, love, and redemption.
I am absolutely in love with this cover!!
This is the one that captured my eye at the library. Omgosh these covers!!! I didn’t want to read the synopsis of this one but on the back all I saw was the name Juliet and I had to get it because it is a retelling of Romeo and Juliet!!!!
I hope you enjoyed my little TBR pile for the month. I know when the baby gets here I am not going to want to do anything but snuggle him.
Don’t forget to check out Bekah’s YouTube page and also her blog. Links down below!!!
Bekah The Awesome Book Nut
The past few weeks I have been seriously lacking in my reading department. I have about 8 books I need to read and review by the end of the month. Yikes!! Well I am only human and things happen all the time, like my daughter being home sick. So I read as much as I can.
I was wondering also though what haven’t I posted in awhile on here. Ah!! My Library book haul. I have a reason why too. The last time I went to the library and checked out roughly 15 books…hehe. When I went to turn them in some of the books had this mysterious coffee looking stain on them. I questioned everyone and no one has touched these books….including myself since I first put them on my bookshelf. Right in the middle of the shelf too. So I was charged the full price for them but it took about 2 months to finally be able to have the money to buy them. On the up side I have two new books and they are both in the same trilogy. Win!
Anyways we went to the library with the girls the other day and of course I can’t help myself. So I wandered into the YA section and tried to find some books that have a darker theme to them. Since its October and Halloween is right around the corner.
So here are the ones I have chosen, let me know if you have read these, what you thought, and what DARK books you are reading this month!!
The Graveyard Book ~ Graphic Novels
The Sin Eater’s Daughter
Boxers & Saints ~Graphic Novels
Two of these titles I also have on Audiobook, so I will be listening to them while I do other things around the house.
Thank you so much for being so patient with me!!
Lets see if I can remember the books that I either read or listened to last month. It was a bad health month for me but I know I did get some books done.
The Distance from Me to You
The Death Cure
The Raven Boys
Part of the BookishSeptember I only did one challenge, Re-read a favorite:
One of the weakest months so far but I had a lot going on. Thank you for looking!!
It is now October!! One of my favorite months of the year. We have a cold front here in Florida so the weather this week is beautiful and very fall like. So the windows are open and I have my trusty cup of coffee by my side.
I am so far behind in my reviews right now and I apologize to all my author friends. I have been battling major migraines and other health issues these past few weeks but I am feeling some what better. I am diving back in with a renewed lust for the written word and the fabulous worlds they contain.
Here is my TBR for October and most of these I have to read and review very soon!!!
This is my current read and I am almost done!!
These covers!!!! Elise Kova
The Reluctant Sacrifice
A.R. Winterstaar’s Series
Chrissy Lessey’s Goodreads
That is my book plan for the next few weeks. I am going to put everything else on hold until I have these books read.
Thank you for stopping by!!
What are you reading this month??
I can not believe that it is August already. I can’t believe that the girls are going back to school soon either. Which means……more time to READ!!! So in celebration of school starting I have decided to dedicate August to all of the books I have received for Review.
So first off I am going to list the physical books that were mailed to me by either the author or publisher.
Trespassers ~ Todd Wynn & Tim Wynn
Forsworn ~ Emily Wibberley
Losing the Plot in LA ~ Sonia Farnsworth
Velvet ~ Temple West
The Gardener of Baghdad ~ Ahmad Ardalan
Hollow Planet ~ Andrew Tolan
Those are the physical books that were send to me. I do have a lot of books to read on my kindle. I may make another post about those.
If you want to see what is on my kindle for review let me know in the comments below.
I hope you have an awesome month !!
It is now currently Day 5 of the BookTubeAThon! I can not believe how fast this week has gone by. Not only am I trying to read but we have been busy as a family. Just go go go!
Anyways here are the stats from the last 2 days!
I was able to finish Aria by M.D. Luis and that also completed the challenge for reading a book with Blue on the cover. I was pleasently surprised with this book mostly because paranormal romance isn’t in my comfort zone. Her book was a great book to tiptoe into this genre.
Reading the last 179 pages.
Gerald’s Game by Stephen King (12 pages)
House by Ted Dekker (12 pages)
PUSH by Sapphire (38 pages)
For a Grand Total of 339 pages read on the 3rd day!!
Something else happened that night but I will be posting about that in its on post! Its very very exciting though!
I read a total of 1 book!!
No Spock!! Im sorry!
The one book that I did read I was able to read in under 2 hours!!
I was able to finish it so fast that it is half regular novel and half graphic novel. I will be putting up a review on this soon.
Total pages 278
Which brings my overall total to….
So I hope you all are having a great time with your challenges and busting through your BookTubeAThon TBR.
