You’ve Got Mail!

Today I received two books by the same author. I was totally having a bummer of a day so when I opened my mailbox and saw the package my spirits were lifted!! Thank you so much Emilee for sending me your books. I can’t wait to read them!!

Surviving on a Whisper

Book #1

Arie used to live a normal life: high school and homework, parents and brother, best friends and boyfriend. You know the drill. But all at once, her life was taken from her as she was thrown into a dangerous world with a horrible secret that she would give anything to protect. Now stuck in a violent game of cat and mouse, Arie spends her time running from Mr. Sark, the man representing the organization that would do anything to get their hands on what she is hiding; and her father, who knows exactly how powerful this secret can be. Then Arie meets Erika, a young woman who has a strange fascination with Arie’s world. Erika gives Arie a new spin on life, opening her up to ideas that seem impossible but begin to heal the deep wounds from her past. But Erika can’t protect Arie forever. It’s only a matter of time before the enemy catches up. With her back against the wall, Arie is forced to decide who to trust while protecting not only her secret, but those she loves and her broken self-wondering if it’s worth it. When you’ve been shattered is there any chance to be fixed? When you’re so thoroughly damaged, is there any hope for survival?

Surviving through the Night (Arie's Story Book 2)

Book #2

Life goes on. At least it’s supposed to. These days, Arie isn’t so sure.
She finally managed to escape Dalton’s grasp and find her way back to her makeshift family, but eight months is a long time to be away from home—Arie returns to find that the world kept on turning while she was gone. Alexis has been busy since Arie’s secret got out and she realizes that she’ll have to work harder than ever to keep the key away from him.
But Alexis isn’t the only problem. Dalton’s threat hangs over Arie, dictating her every move, which nobody else seems to understand. And when a sinister assassin begins tracking her down, Arie knows it’s only a matter of time before someone she loves gets hurt again. So the question remains: should she leave in an effort to keep her family safe or stay with those she loves to help them survive?
As danger closes in from all sides, Arie realizes more and more that she’s not who she used to be. Survival comes at a cost, a cost that changes people, a cost that changed Arie more than she’s willing to admit. But there’s something else lurking in the corners of her mind that’s threatening to take control. Her fight against the clock—against her engrained powers as the key—is nearly up.

New Adventure!!

I am going to be opening my own used bookstore. I will be using Instagram to shoe what I am selling. They will be priced decently and there will be a shipping charge. For right now I will be shipping only in the US but that may change depending on how well I do.

I want to raise money to help out in the household. I do not have a regular job but I do have a ton of books. Most of which I will not read or ever will.

Thank you for looking and if you want to check out the page and purchase some of my books here is my IG information:

You’ve Got Mail!

Hey everyone and welcome back to another You’ve Got Mail haul.

Today I was blessed to receive two books in the mail. That has never happened before and I hope it happens more often. The first book I received was my contest prize, Ready Player One by Ernest Cline.

The second book was this gorgeous book:

What Lies Within by James Morris

“You’re going to die” Shelley Marano is an ordinary, unexceptional high school senior…until the day she receives a cryptic text message, and her world tilts sideways. Now she’s in real danger, although she doesn’t know who would want her dead, or why. As she starts to unravel the mystery, the truth about who she really is proves to be more frightening than she ever imagined. With the lives of her and her friends hanging in the balance, one thing is certain: Nothing will ever be the same.

Doesn’t that sound like a great book?? I can not wait to read this. Honestly I probably won’t be able to till mid Sept, unless I can’t take it anymore and need to read it. That could happen you know. I make no promises.

The cover is so simple but gorgeous and it has that soft buttery texture that I love on paperbacks! Extra points there. Like I said, very excited and can’t wait to read.

Read A Long #1

Hey everyone!

I wanted to let you know that a great friend of mine and myself are doing our own read a long. We will be reading this gorgeous book :

The Martian by Andy Weir

I am super excited to be finally starting this book but also knowing I have a friend reading it with me. Not only is she a good friend but she is also an author!

M.D. Luis wrote the book Aria that I read for the BookTubeAThon and I also put up a review for her first book. Go check out her work,  she’s an amazing writer.

So since I’m a fast reader I left the speed in which we read in her capable hands. Starting out we will be reading 3 chapters a day and if we move faster we will.  This will be good for my busy schedule and self control.

If you want to join in in this read a long I will be posing daily updates on my Goodreads page and possibly little ones on here.

Thank you for reading this post. Let me know in the comments if you are reading along!

Happy Reading!

The Maze Runner Review

The Maze Runner (Maze Runner, #1)

The Maze Runner by James Dashner

My Thoughts

Now I did break the whole read the book before the movie rule but I only got back into reading a few months ago. I am an avid movie watcher and this was my kind of movie. From what I remember of the movie it did seem to follow the book pretty much. I know that directors have to cut some stuff and they have the reigns to change things. Most of the time it isn’t a really good representation of the book. My memory of the the movie like I said pretty much followed along with this book however I will be watching it again soon. So I may have a future post that will tear this one to shreds. Anyways..

This book is action packed and I had a hard time putting it down. I took it up to MA with me on my mini-vaca and read most of it there. I acutally read like 20 chapters on the plane ride home too. Over all it took me a total of 24 hours to finish this novel.

The Maze Runner is the first in this series from James Dashner. There is a big group of boys that were dropped into a place that they call the Glade. When they come up from the ground in this elevator or “Box” they have no memory of who they are or what was in their past. They make a civilized camp and everyone has a job. Until one day when we meet our main character Thomas arrives. He doesn’t remember anything but there is something about him that is different. Inside this Glade are gardens, animals, and the Maze.

Only the runners are allowed in the Maze and Thomas wants, no needs to be one. The walls change every night and the runners have to be out of it before the giant door close. If you get stuck beyond the doors then you are pretty much dead. There are these creatures called “Grievers” and they seem to be like a giant slug with killer claws and needles. If you get stung by one and able to receive the Serum then you will only suffer what the Gladers call The Changing. Its a horrible experience and most times the kids go insane or die.

Thomas seems to be settling in to life in the Glade until one day the box brings up someone they didn’t think was possible, a girl. She is the game changer in this dystopian, thriller, action packed adventure.

Will they make it out of the Maze??

I give this book:

About James Dasner

Angellfall Review

It’s been six weeks since angels of the apocalypse descended to demolish the modern world. Street gangs rule the day while fear and superstition rule the night. When warrior angels fly away with a helpless little girl, her seventeen-year-old sister Penryn will do anything to get her back. Anything, including making a deal with Raffe, an injured enemy angel. Traveling through a dark and twisted Northern California, they journey toward the angels’ stronghold in San Francisco, where Penryn will risk everything to rescue her sister and Raffe will put himself at the mercy of his greatest enemies for the chance to be made whole again.

            Spoiler Free Review

Right out of the gate I was hooked into this book. Susan Ee has a beautiful way of telling a story and keeping you turning the page.

My heart immediately went out for Penryn when her sister was taken. All of things she goes through to get her back. I love Penryn’s strength and determination through everything. She is now one of my favorite female protagonist in a book, definitely in the top 10.

I love the snarky and sarcastic relationship that Penryn and Raffe have. I knew that there was an underlying romance blooming but he did very well at hiding it. Their conversations made me laugh and the way they protected each other is perfectly written.

This book did not let up once and I am looking forward to the sequel.
I highly recommend this book to anyone that is looking for a great new take on angels or just an action packed kick ass of a book.

Workbooks Haul #1

May 5th, 2015

Hello and thank you for reading my blog. I am going to start a new little segment in this blog for the books that I haul from my job at the Save the Animals Thrift Store!!! I am the librarian there and also a volunteer. Since I go through about 100 books in a day I am allowed to pick out some for myself. I do donate some funds to the animals as well. Without this position my library would not be as HUGE as it is now. I’ve gotten so many books that I have been dying to read. So starting today I will start to put up the books that I haul from my job.

So here are the books that I have from today:

We Only Know So Much 10024937

9999107 4780905 390302 510808

I can’t wait to get the chance to read these books!!!!! Thanks for stopping by!!!!

So excited!

I have received my first books to review from an author. His name is Jeff Lane and he has three books that he has written. I met Jeff on the Twitterverse last year some time. We got to talking and he asked me to listen to his audio book One Way. I was very honored to be asked by an author to do so ( it was my first time) and so I did. Wow the book is great and I remember it held me on the edge of my seat.

Now that I have this blog I got back in touch with Jeff and he sent me his three books for me to re read on my kindle and then review it for him. I am beyond ecstatic. Can’t wait to get started!!!!!!

Thank you Jeff!!!!!
