Summary:

Soldier… Sorcerer… Savior… Who is Vhalla Yarl?

Vhalla Yarl marches to war as property of the Solaris Empire. The Emperor counts on her to bring victory, the Senate counts on her death, and the only thing Vhalla can count on is the fight of her life. Or will she truly become the Empire’s monster?

My Thoughts:

I received Fire Falling in exchange for an honest review and oh buddy!

I fell in love with Air Awakens and that book had my blood pumping. Fire Falling kept my attention and focus, once I actually had time to read it. It took me about a day and a half to read the whole book. It is a very fast read just like the first book. I can not believe I didn’t just read it when it was delivered at my door. I should of ripped the package open and stayed outside and read the whole thing. BUT life got in the way and it was pushed back. Sorry Elise.

Once again I am thrust into this beautiful world that she has created. I love that we get to see more of the country and more background on some of the lesser characters. I do like them all but Daniel and Larel are by far my favorite. We also get to see a different side to Aldrik. I loved his character the most in the first book and now even more. Vhalla’s character keeps developing more and more deeply that I can’t wait to turn the page to see what happens next. Their relationship is probably one of the most angsty ones I have ever read and I’ve caught myself yelling at the book because the intensity was so great.

Can we just talk about the magic used in this series? It is reminiscent of Avatar: The Last Airbender only because Vhalla is the first Windwalker in a very long time. The fight scenes with the use of magic is so detailed but easy to follow. Vhalla and Aldrik are already Bonded but he teaches her how to Channel her powers and she learns to Project her magic. Which is pretty much astral projection!! So freaking cool!! I would love to see this series turned into movies!!!!

Anyways I will stop fan girling for minute and tell you guys that the beginning to the end of this book is amazing. I would give it a solid 5 out of 5 stars even though it ripped my heart out. Can’t wait for the next book in the series, Earth’s End!

Thank you Elise Kova for sharing your magic with me!!
